In 2020, I uncovered the first-ever use of deepfake technology in an Indian election. Since then, I have tracked AI-manipulated content in politics, and its broader societal impact. Ahead of the 2024 Indian general elections, I documented the multifaceted use of AI in politics, and wrote a series of stories on this topic. My reporting on AI and elections won a jury special mention at the One World Media’s New Voice Award. I’m a Harvard Nieman fellow 2025 at Cambridge, researching AI-generated audio and video content, and how U.S. newsrooms combat deepfakes in politics.
Here’s a selection of articles showcasing my reporting work and its impact.
